According to TMZ, Foster, who is battling Lyme disease, is determined to overcome her failed marriage, and will come through the process a stronger person.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying that the former model "constantly leaned" on her partner during their relationship, but "towards the end he was traveling a lot and she couldn't handle the change and got really sick as a result."
However, another source has told People that it was Yolanda's decision to allow their lives to be broadcast for reality television that was to blame.
"Yolanda's obsession with fame for her and her children is the cause of the split," the insider claimed. "David didn't want to be part of the show, but he knew how important it was to her.
"She had no job, and it was a platform to launch her kids, but he didn't want any part of it, but he wanted to make her happy."
Another source said Yolanda tended to make herself available when it came to being in the spotlight, but was then too ill or inaccessible when it came to her marriage.
"Things in the marriage came to a head because Yolanda's disease affects her when she wants it to affect her, she was never there for David, but when it came to the reality show and her kids, she was ready to go and willing," they explained.
Yolanda, 51, and David, 66, were together for nine years. They tied the knot in 2011. Both parties have grown-up children from previous marriages.
