Pregnant Woman Assaulted In Co Cork

A pregnant woman has been assaulted in Cork city centre, it has been reported.

The incident happened on Princes Street at around 7.30pm on Sunday 29 November.

The expectant mother, 25-year-old Sintija Shah, was approached by three men before one of them hit her and then walked away.

One man was arrested last Thursday, 10 December, in connection to the assault, and a second was arrested on Friday, 11 December. They were taken to Bridewell Garda Station for questioning, but have since been released without charge.

It is understood a file is to be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
