'Most Romantic Line' From TV, Film & Literature Revealed

The most romantic line from literature, film and television drama has been discovered.

In a new survey by TV channel Drama, 2,000 women in Britain were asked to vote for their favourite romantic line used by a character.

It's perhaps not surprising to discover that the classics – such as Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights and Far From The Madding Crowd made the final 10, but there were also more modern declarations of love which featured, from Titanic and Love Actually.

Topping the list was, "My heart is, and always will be, yours", from the 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense And Sensibility. In the movie, Edward Ferrars – played by Hugh Grant – utters the line to Elinor Dashwood, played by Emma Thompson. The romantic confession securing 16% of the final vote.

This was closely followed by a line from Dirty Dancing. With 14% of the vote, participants felt Jennifer Grey's line to Patrick Swayze was incredibly romantic – "I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you."
