The 37-year-old singer made the comments during a recent interview with Fabulous magazine.
She admitted that her partner has proposed to her a number of times in the past – but no longer asks because she keeps saying no.
She said: "He's given up on that [proposing]. We just go with the flow. It's not really something we've discussed."
The Britain's Got Talent judge also dismissed claims that the ring her boyfriend wears on his left hand is a wedding ring.
"It's not a wedding ring," she insisted. "It's just a ring that I bought him on his birthday! We're not married!"
When asked if she would ever consider marrying Ononye, 35, however, she was more positive, saying she would "never say never".
Dixon and Ononye have been together for six years. They have one child together; a two-year-old daughter named Azura.
