The McFly singer was appearing on ITV's Loose Women alongside his wife Giovanna when he made the revelation.
The 30-year-old was asked about claims he had made in his 2012 autobiography 'Unsaid Things' where he would eat just one muffin and drink one cup of a coffee a day. He explained how he had managed to overcome his eating disorder when he became a parent.
He said: "Being a dad you realise that it's not about you anymore. All the clichés are true, I think. It changes everything that you do and you realise why you're doing it, who you're doing it for.
"It gives you a real purpose and interestingly I think I've become more driven in my career and in my life since having the kids and I don't think I expected that to happen because I know I'm doing it now."
Tom and Giovanna met at school when they were both aged 13. They dated for a number of years and tied the knot in 2012. They welcomed their first child, a son called Buzz, in 2014. Their second son, Buddy, was born at the beginning of this year.
