People Would 'Give Up Love For A Holiday'

Some 15% of people have admitted they would give up a relationship for the rest of their life in place of a holiday. The poll, which was conducted by sunshine.co.uk, involved almost 3,000 Britons and asked them what they felt they could and could not live without for the rest of their lives.

Participants were given a list of answers and asked to select what they would sacrifice, if it meant they could go on holidays.

While a majority said they would happily forego carbohydrates (91%), 72% admitted they would go without sex for the rest of their days. This was followed by 52% of people who said they would live without their best friend. A further 15% said they would sacrifice their relationship.

Commenting on the findings, Sue Anderson, from sunshine.co.uk, said: "Holidays are a big part of people's lives and having one to look forward to is, without a doubt, one of the best feelings.

"However, we were really surprised at just how many people said they'd rather give up their best friend, their relationship or their career for the rest of their lives than holidays."
