The Atomic Kitten singer was appearing on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday when she made the comments. The 35-year-old also defended her daughter, Molly, who has received abuse over her weight.
Molly, 14, was recently the subject for trolls after she was pictured on a rollercoaster with her mother during a recent visit to Thorpe Park. While Katona has since said she knew the photos were being taken, she has said that the photos were unflattering.
Speaking to the panel she said: "It was the most unflattering photo of my daughter."
She then referred to a different image of her daughter that was projected onto a large screen behind her and said: "Look at how beautiful she is? She's absolutely stunning. I look like God knows what on it! I showed it to Molly straight away. She said, 'look at all my chins'."
The teenager's appearance was then criticised on social media, as was her mother's parenting skills.
"It then escalated on social media," Katona continued. "She's an independent character. Molly's very quick-witted. She likes to gob off herself. I told her to block them, ignore them.
"Molly wasn't upset. Fortunately it did make headlines about these people (trolls) because it goes to show what lowlife people are out there."
Molly is the eldest of Kerry's two children from her two-year marriage to Brian McFadden, which ended in 2004. Katona is also a mother to Lilly-Sue, 13, Heidi, nine, Maxwell, eight, and two-year-old Dylan-Jorge.
