Man Injured After Ceiling Collapses At Wedding Reception

A man has been injured after a hotel ceiling collapsed during a wedding reception, it has been reported.

The incident happened at the Queen's Hotel in Dundee.

It is understood the man was hit by falling ceiling tiles. He was not seriously injured.

He was one of around 200 guests who had to evacuate the venue for around 90 minutes as emergency services inspected the scene.


A spokesperson is quoted by STV as saying: "It appears a small portion of a plaster from the original lathe and plaster ceiling came loose, falling through the false ceiling below. This resulted in a few tiles and some plaster debris falling into the room.

"Emergency services were immediately called as a precaution, which resulted in one of the guests being taken to hospital with a minor complaint."
