Anne Hathaway Defends Post-Pregnancy Body

Anne Hathaway has shared an emotional message, encouraging mothers not to feel pressurised into losing their baby weight.

The actress, who welcomed her first child with husband Adam Shulman earlier this year, took to Instagram to share her thoughts. Alongside an image of a pair of cut-up jeans, the 33-year-old wrote: "There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever).

"There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all).

"There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer's are just too dang short for this summer's thighs.

"Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It's all love (don't let anyone tell you otherwise.) Peace. #noshame #lovewhatyouhavebeengiven."

Hathaway and Shulman tied the knot in 2012. They welcomed their first child together, a son named Jonathan, in March of this year.
