Following the move of the city's Registrars Office to 20 City Square, a new wedding room – known as the Hollins Room – is now available at 1 Shore Terrace. An open day will be held at the venue on Tuesday 23 August, from 11am to 3pm.
Jayne Allan, City Registrar, said: "The Hollins Room is a superb venue and we hope it will become much loved by couples who have been married there. Please come along to the open day to see for yourself and to ask us any questions.
"Registrars conduct Civil Marriages and ceremonies are personalised to suit the couples, who have their individual input to make. This can include choosing vows, promises, exchange of rings, readings, a story about their meeting/relationship, handfasting, warming of the rings, sand ceremony, a time capsule – or a mixture of any of these. The list is endless, if people are in doubt ask the Registrar for advice."
She continued: "We want the couple to look forward to their ceremony and enjoy the day. There are many things the Registrars can do to help couples make their day even more special.
"We have already carried out ceremonies that included a marriage at midnight which enabled the couple to be the first to be married on a particular date. There was also a 5am ceremony at the top the Law which enabled the couple to see a beautiful sunrise over the Tay.
"Themed weddings can even be arranged, and we have had many in the past like Halloween, football, pirates or onesie and we are more than happy to have furred and feathered ring bearers."
