Woman Killed On Way Home From Son's Wedding

A man has admitted killing a woman by dangerous driving as she made her way home from her son's wedding.

According to reports, 57-year-old Marie Laurie, who was from Easterhouse, had just got into a taxi when it was struck by a car. The car was being driven by a man, aged 21, who was being chased by police at the time.

The incident happened on Edinburgh Road, Glasgow, on 29 November 2015. Ms Laurie died at the scene.

The driver admitted causing her death. Appearing at the High Court in Glasgow, sentence was deferred. He has been remanded in custody.
