According to reports, brothers Josh and Kyle Brooks – a boy band who go by the name of Brooks Way – had made it to the live shows, but they did not perform on the show on Saturday night, and will now no longer take part at all in the competition, instead being replaced by another group.
Rylan Clark-Neal confirmed the news on ITV's This Morning on Monday, saying: "It has just been announced they [Brooks Way] won't be coming back, but I can confirm they will be replaced.
"I can't say who, but I think I know who it is. It's really sad about the boys. There was a story that broke at the weekend.
"The boys are gutted. We wish them well, but the show will go on and we will be replacing them."
Over the weekend, The Mirror published an interview with Josh's ex-girlfriend Amelia, in which she claimed to have been abused by Josh throughout their relationship. It was claimed that he had beat up his former partner, and broke her nose. It has also been claimed he sent her threatening messages.
On Sunday night, the brothers took to Twitter to say: "Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don't believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth."
They then added: "The truth always wins."
A spokesperson for The X Factor: "Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition."
