Sir Mick Jagger Welcomes Eighth Child

Sir Mick Jagger has become a father for the eighth time.

The Rolling Stones frontman – who is 73 – welcomed his first child with 29-year-old girlfriend Melanie Hamrick on Thursday.

A publicist for the singer confirmed the news, saying that the couple were "both delighted" at the birth, adding: "Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time."


Jagger is also a father to seven other children whose ages range from 17 to 45. In 2014, he became a great-grandfather. He and Hamrick started dating in 2014, shortly after the death of Sir Mick's long-term partner, L'Wren Scott.
