Khan's wife, Faryal Makhdoom, has previously hit out at the boxer's family over allegations they have made against her to others, as well as claims that they do not see her as part of the family.
Khan's parents meanwhile, have publicly hit out at 25-year-old Makhdoom. This later led Khan to take to social media to tell both parties to sort out their problems in private and that they would lose both a "husband and son" if they did not make amends.
However, at the weekend Khan's brother Haroon celebrated his marriage to his wife Arifa at Bolton FC's Macron Stadium, but the sportsman and his partner were not in attendance. The couple were at Haroon's wedding in Pakistan in 2015, it is understood, but not the UK ceremony at the weekend.
A source is quoted in the MailOnline as saying: "The past few weeks have been incredibly difficult for Amir. He loves his wife but he loves his parents and his siblings too.
"He's also close to Haroon because both of them are boxers so to miss his wedding celebration has caused him some angst, but they both understand that he's in the middle of a training camp and he can't interrupt that to attend the celebration.
"Even though it can't be avoided he is gutted to miss such an important family occasion. He has a rough time of it in lately and having his closest loved ones constantly fighting so publicly has taken its toll.
"Haroon understands why his brother couldn't make it but it would have been a perfect chance to try to put a hellish few months behind the family."
