Murder Investigation After Young Boy Found Dead

Thames Valley Police has launched a murder investigation following the death of a young boy in Faringdon.

At around 1.20pm on Tuesday, 14 March, police were called to Bromsgrove Cottages in Faringdon, where they discovered a boy of primary school age had died.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Dave Hubbard of the Major Crime Unit, said: "Following the discovery of a deceased child, we have launched a murder investigation. The next of kin have been informed and we are offering support to them.

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation and an arrest has been made in connection with this incident."

It is understood a 40-year-old woman from Faringdon has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
