Traits Female Millennials Look For In Men – Survey

A new survey has revealed the top traits female millennials look for in men.

The research, conducted by sunshine.co.uk, involved more than 2,170 single, heterosexual women in the UK aged between 18 and 34. They were asked that they wanted the most in a potential male partner and could select as many different traits as they liked.

Topping the list with 89% of the vote was a caring personality. This was followed by financial security (77%) and then good looks (75%).

A desire to travel (60%), a good sense of humour (62%) and a desire to have a family one day (50%) also made the list, as did having a high sex drive (44%) and a sociable personality (41%).

Other traits which didn't make the top 10 included cooking skills (32%), a similar interest in TV/film/music (29%), a love of animals (21%), and intelligence (18%).

Respondents were also asked if they had ever 'been travelling'. 46% of women said yes and they were then asked if they had ended a relationship in order to go travelling. 9% admitted they had ended a relationship in order to go travelling. However, 17% said that they had gone travelling with a partner that they were with at the time, while 23% had met a love interest when travelling.

Sue Anderson, from sunshine.co.uk, said: "We think this list of top 10 traits that female millennials look for in potential partners says a lot about where they are in their lives; with many prioritising travelling over starting a family.

"That makes a lot of sense, as it's good to get travelling out of your system before settling down with little ones, who could restrict where you go for a little while.

"Travelling also seems to break a fair few relationships up, with some ending things to jet off around the world as a free spirit. However, some confessed to finding love on their travels too, so everyone's story is clearly different.

"Whatever the case, travel in relationships is important, as it helps couples to escape their everyday routines and just be together."
