Jean-Bernard and Cheryl first met in 2014 and tied the knot in secret just three months later. However, just 18 months later, the couple's marriage had come to an end, with Cheryl filing for divorce.
Throughout the split, Jean-Bernard has remained silent about the pair's relationship but now, speaking to The Mirror, he admits that he has lost a lot since the breakdown of his marriage.
He told the newspaper: "I've lost a lot. I don't have my parents, I don't have a girlfriend. I'm alone now. I married someone who was famous. I was thrust into this mad world. I didn't like it."
He added: "There was really awful things said about me, about my family [during the marriage] but I feel like I survived it, and I'm here surviving, doing my thing.
"It's been two years. I feel like a different person. That was the old me."
