MLA Megan Fearon made the call following a successful Marriage Equality march in Belfast.
She said: "The opposition to marriage equality in the north of Ireland is discriminatory and clearly out of step with the people of these islands and across Europe.
"The DUP can no longer stick their heads in the sand and block equality and rights for citizens in the North.
"Marriage equality must be brought forward now."
Green Party North Belfast representative and equality campaigner Malachai O'Hara said: "The Green Party brought the first ever LGBTQ motion to the Assembly – that was an Equal Marriage motion back in 2012.
"Since then we had a series of false dawns for the LGBTQ community with the DUP frustrating the will of the majority of people within Northern Ireland by abusing the petition of concern on five occasions. Other political parties have also repeatedly failed to follow their own policy on this issue, despite calling themselves progressive. The Green Party is the only party with a 100% record of votes in favour of Marriage Equality.
"This entire issue concerns love and the freedom to express this love. It's about couples wanting to show their commitment and to be afforded the same rights and responsibilities as their heterosexual brothers and sisters. We will keep campaigning alongside others until it is achieved."
