DMX Accused Of Avoiding 'Millions In Taxes'

Rapper DMX has been arrested and charged with tax fraud in the US after being accused of avoiding millions of dollars in taxes.

The 46-year-old artist, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested in New York on Thursday and is due in court today, 14 July.


According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of New York, the rapper engaged in a 'multi-year scheme to conceal millions of dollars of income from the IRS and to avoid paying $1.7 million of tax liabilities'.

"Simmons surrendered to law enforcement agents today and will be presented tomorrow in Manhattan federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Andrew J. Peck," the statement read.

DMX is yet to publicly respond.
