Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon has welcomed the announcement that he is supporting marriage equality.
She said: "We want to see the same right to equal marriage enjoyed throughout the rest of Ireland extended to the north immediately.
"Sinn Féin has been working to secure the full implementation of the Good Friday and subsequent agreements.
"The Irish government, as a co-guarantor of the Good Friday and other agreements, has a key role to play in ensuring these agreements are implemented.
"Currently the British Tory government and the DUP are blocking rights and equality, including language rights, marriage equality and the right to coroner's inquests.
"The recent court judgement on the British state's Glenanne Gang, throws the latter into sharp relief."
