The reality television star announced the news during an interview with OK! magazine.
Cara, 27, told the publication: "I'm not very girlie so I'd rather have a little boy who'll get all muddy than a little princess. Now we know the sex, it's so much more real."
The 'Love Island' star also opened up about her relationshio with Nathan Massey – the father of her unborn child – saying: "We're excited to see what happens. Babies do change things. At the start it was worrying because you're thinking, 'We're bringing a baby into the world but we're not together'."
Massey, 25, who also took part in the interview, added that the couple were now "getting on better than ever".
Cara and Nathan met on the 2016 series of Love Island and dated after the show finished. However, earlier this year, they announced they had gone their separate ways, around the same time that Cara discovered she was pregnant with the couple's first child.
While the pair are no longer together, they have remained amicable.
