The boxer announced via social media last week that the couple had ended their marriage but before long the pair were exchanging heated messages and accusations on Twitter.
Now, 26-year-old Faryal has spoken out about their relationship, admitting that not everything that has been said in the media is true. This included an allegation by Khan that his wife had cheated on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.
Taking to Twitter, Faryal wrote: "I've been quiet for some time because I myself didn't know what was going on. Everything that's going on is just not right and a complete misunderstanding.
"The screenshots sent to Amir were 'fake' and Amir thought Joshua [Anthony] and I were speaking when we have never even met. Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely NO truth to it.
"It's all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on. Apologies for all this nonsense. Let's get on with life now... (sic)."
Khan, 30, retweeted his wife's message and then sent a tweet to Anthony to say: "Glad all is cleared up and all lies. I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best."
His fellow boxer replied: "Apology accepted."
