Louise Redknapp 'Being Brave' Following Marriage Split

Louise Redknapp has said that she is trying to be "brave" in the wake of her marriage split from husband Jamie.

The singer made the comments during an interview with Hello! magazine.

The 42-year-old admitted that while she would "always love" her husband, she "lost" herself in her marriage, something she said "happens to a lot of women when they get married and have children."

Louise, who is currently starring as Sally Bowles in the stage production of Cabaret, also seemed to draw similarities between the character and her own life.

She explained: "Sally is extremely vulnerable, extremely fragile – yet on the outside... a woman who wants to be a star and does all she can to survive."

Going on to say that she was trying to be brave in the wake of her marriage split, she continued: "I think lots of women will relate to how she puts on a brave face and always soldiers on, even when she's terribly wounded and terribly hurt and insecure and unsure."

Louise came back to the public's attention last year when she competed on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Prior to this, she was a stay-at-home mum, looking after the couple's two children, sons Charley, 13, and eight-year-old Beau.

She and Jamie have been married for 19 years.
