Kim Kardashian has accidentally revealed that she is having a baby girl via surrogate.
In recent months, speculation has mounted that the reality television star and her husband, Kanye West, are due to expand their family.
While the couple have remained fairly tight-lipped about the news, Kardashian did throw a baby shower at the weekend, with a few pictures and videos making their way onto social media.
The colour scheme of the party was pink, leading many to believe that this confirmed reports that their third child is a girl. However, 37-year-old Kardashian never addressed the claims – until she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres' Show this week and accidentally shared the news.
Commenting on the cherry blossom-themed baby shower, she confessed that it was for the benefit of her daughter, North, who is four.
She explained: "I thought I really do want to have a baby shower, because I want her [North] to feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it.
"So people brought toys and gifts, and she was opening them all up the next day and she said, 'Mum, you know since baby sister is not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room, and i'll play with them and make sure they are all OK for baby sister'."
Ellen was quick to pick up on Kardashian's response, to which she smiled and confirmed that a baby girl would be joining their family.
Kardashian and West are already parents to North, four, and a son named Saint, who turns two in December. Their third child is due to be born before the end of the year.
