Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!
If in doubt: moisturise. Keeping your skin hydrated is key if you want glowing, smooth, young-looking skin on your wedding day. Ensure you moisturise your face and body both night and day to keep your skin looking (and feeling) in tip-top condition.
Have regular haircuts and conditioning treatments
Your hair is often a big focus on your wedding day, and so ensuring it is kept in the best condition it can be during the months before your wedding is completely key. Book yourself in for regularly trims at your hairdressers to fight off split ends and also treat it to regular conditioning treatments (either at home or through your salon) to keep it hydrated and healthy.
Perfect your brows
Eyebrows are so important when it comes to framing a face, so make sure yours are looking their very best by booking in for regular tidy-ups and tints. There are lots of different options when it comes to brows you could have them plucked, threaded or waxed all of which are effective forms of hair removal. Just make sure you go to a trusted salon to get them done, as you dont want uneven brows on your wedding day!
Invest in a serum
Serums are a great way of giving your skin a more intensive treatment, so make a great addition to your beauty routine in 2018. Whether you suffer with acne-prone skin, sallow skin or aged skin, there is a serum out there for you. Apply it before your moisturiser to reap the benefits.
Feed your skin from within
Whilst lotions and potions can work their magic on your skin, there is nothing better than feeding your skin from within. Drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods rich in vitamins and minerals will help your skin glow and your hair and nails grow.
Double cleanse your skin
Forget cleansing your skin once 2018 is the year of the double-cleanse. Particularly if you wear makeup regularly, double cleansing is a brilliant way of ensuring your skin is as squeaky clean as possible, allowing your serum and moisturiser the perfect base to sink in to. The concept is simple enough first, cleanse off any makeup and oil with an oil-based cleanser, and then cleanse your skin with a water-based cleanser to wipe out things like sweat and environmental dirt.
Use SPF
Even though you might not think your skin is exposed to the sun all that often, using products with SPF is so important, particularly if youre concerned about ageing. Whether you use an SPF on its own or one that is in your moisturiser or foundation, ensure you protect your skin from damage by incorporating SPF into your beauty routine.
Exfoliate regularly
Nobody wants rough, dry skin on their wedding day, so keep your skin feeling smooth and gorgeous by exfoliating regularly. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells, making way for the beautiful, smooth skin underneath, so invest in a good exfoliating scrub and make way for stunning, silky-smooth skin!
Get enough sleep
Although you might feel like you have so much wedding planning to do that every waking hour counts, in order to look your very best on the big day, you really need to make sure youre getting a full eight hours of sleep a night. If you really struggle to get forty winks, try using a sleep spray or lavender to encourage a restful slumber.
Cut down on heated appliances
Whilst you might be addicted to straightening, blow-drying and curling your hair, it can cause it some serious damage. If you want your hair looking its best on your wedding day, try to cut down on heated appliances during the run-up this will encourage it to grow, keep split ends at bay and help the overall condition of your hair.
