The 34-year-old enjoyed a string of dates with Meshach, who he met earlier this year, and reportedly took him on a romantic getaway to Oxfordshire last weekend to celebrate his 22nd birthday.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Nick has found dating quite tough in recent years because of his job.
"But he met Meshach, who's called Mesh by his pals, a few months ago and although it's still early days they are really enjoying their time together."
The pair are said to be taking things slow and not putting any pressure on their new relationship.
"Nick really likes him, and his friends are thrilled he has found someone who makes him happy," the source added.
Nick recently admitted he hopes that moving from the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show to the Drivetime slot after six years will improve his personal life.
"I think I will have more time to put my life first," he said.
"Now I can go for dates with people and the new show will help."
