The 46-year-old gave birth to her son Stanley in 2011 and has found her spark again after years of suffering from writers block.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, the White Flag singer said: "After I had my son if I'm honest, everything I wrote for a few years was rubbish.
"I write about conflict and little moments of light and dark; but there was no conflict. I just loved him and there was nothing to say about that."
But after recently composing a piece about her experience of motherhood, her love for song-writing was rediscovered with a burst of creativity.
"I'm really proud of it, it came out very naturally and it's just a little song about what it feels like for me to love someone in that way.
"Then at that moment the floodgates opened, suddenly the world became full of songs again."
Dido's recent passion for creating music will culminate in her upcoming album titled Still On My Mind.

English singer-songwriter Dido has said she is finally back into the swing of things since becoming a mother, as she is set to release her first new album in five years next March.The 46-year-old gave birth to her son Stanley in 2011 and has found her spark again after years of suffering from writers block.
