David Arquette 'Lucky To Be Alive'

David Arquette is considering himself "lucky to be alive" after a wrestling Death Match left him hospitalised.

The actor took part in the competition with Nick Gage on November 16 and accidentally suffered a "gruesome" cut to his neck, which then became infected.

He told People magazine of his ordeal: "If I had been cut in the jugular, I probably wouldn't be here right now.

"Sometimes they use these fluorescent light tubes and I got cut and started seeing dripping blood and panicked. I turned around too quickly and the end of a broken bulb got me in the neck."

The father-of-three said the experience was "really scary", and that he was out of his depth taking part in a hardcore wrestling match, which he knew very little about.

"I love wrestling and I will do it again, but I will never do another DeathMatch."
