Mya: Women Are Divided In The Music Industry

Mya, whose real name is Mya Harrison, has revealed that thinks women in the music business are divided.

The 39-year-old singer recorded the 2001 hit Lady Marmalade alongside Pink, Lil' Kim and Christina Aguilera, and has now called on women in the music business to be more supportive of each other.


Speaking to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, she said: "I have felt the change - I see a lot of men that have been able to work together to create great things.

"In the entertainment industry women are very divided. When women work together, magic happens."

Mya continued that her collaboration on Lady Marmalade was a great experience, and she wishes more female stars would do the same.

"It was really amazing. We succeeded. That is an example of when women come together," she added.
