Published on Friday 23 November, it discovered that 60% of people back a "self-declaratory system for legal gender recognition" that would eliminate requirements for transgender people to obtain medical evidence.
61% supported proposed changes to allow transgender teens to make use of the gender recognition process from age 16, while 62% also believe that non-binary people should also be able to gain legal recognition.
The Scottish Government has explained that people backing self-ID changes generally felt that "the existing recognition process takes too long, is too difficult or too expensive".
