"But some bleeders in the UK can't afford sanitary products, imagine the scandal at the ball!"
Cariad received backlash from some online users, who took offence to her use of the term "bleeders" rather than women.
They stated that her description refers to all people who menstruate, trans men and non-binary people included.
Graham Lineman, who has been vocal about his opposition to transgender rights, was among those who criticised Lloyd for the tweet.
The comedian later deactivated her Twitter account.
