Spice Girls Changed Lyric To Be More LGBT Inclusive

Spice Girls star Emma Bunton has revealed that the band changed a lyric in their hit song '2 become 1' in a bid to make it more LGBT-friendly.

In an interview with Gay Times, Emma, who was known as 'Baby Spice' during the pop band's time together, said the line "any deal that we endeavour/boys and girls feel good together" turned into "once again if we endeavour/ love will bring us back together".

The new lyric was incorporated into the single release, music video and stage performances. Emma recalled: "We changed the lyrics in a hotel. We were travelling and we were like, 'Absolutely, it needs to be changed.' We felt like it needed to be more inclusive."

The star continued that she is grateful for the support of her fans from the LGBT community, saying: "It's just incredible.

"Thank goodness we're living at a time where everyone is supporting each other so much more now. I feel so thankful to them—when I write or when I perform, it feels on such a more open, different level.

"It's so much more inclusive and special."

The Spice Girls are set to tour the UK later this year.
