The retired baseball star can't wait to watch the superstar perform alongside Shakira at the flagship football game in Miami next February.
Fans had been speculating about the announcement for days ahead of the confirmation.
"So proud and SO EXCITED! Bringing it home!," Alex posted on Instagram when the news was confirmed.
A number of other stars also expressed their delight, with Andy Cohen writing: "That's what I'm talking about!"
Derek Hough also congratulated the singer and actress, saying: "Yes you are (fire emojis)" while Gina Rodriguez wrote: "Latinx PRIDE!!! #latinxcellence."
The two singers are set to bring an explosion of fun and energy to the Super Bowl.
Commenting ahead of the performance, the 50-year-old bride-to-be said: "This is gonna be so much fun! She's such a dynamic performer, she does her own thing.
"There's nobody like her so I know that the two of us together are going to bring that special brand of what we do and there will be people who haven't even seen us perform who get to see something special that night. It's going to be an exciting show.
"That's what you can expect. When you think about Shak and you think about what I do, the combination of that, I think of an explosion of fun and energy!"
