Earl of Snowdon Divorces Wife

The Earl of Snowdon is set to divorce his wife, the Countess of Snowdon, after an "amicable" split.

Queen Elizabeth's nephew David Armstrong James and his wife Serena have went their separate ways after 26 years of marriage.

They said in a statement: "The Earl and Countess of Snowdon have amicably agreed that their marriage has come to an end and that they shall be divorced.


"They ask that the press respect their privacy and that of their family."

The pair share two children, Viscount Linley Charles Armstrong-Jones, 20, and Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, 17.

They tied the knot in October 1993.

The announcement comes just one week after the queen's grandson Peter Phillips - the son of Princess Anne and her ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips - confirmed he has split from his wife.
